OUR COMPREHENSIVE PSYCHOLOGICAL AND GIFTED+TALENTED REVIEW

PART ONE:

The Comprehensive Psychological Review pairs your family with a licensed and certified Psychologist who will engage the child, family and school team in robust conversations, activities and standardized measures in order to understand more fully a child’s areas of strength and need. In addition, action-based interventions and strategies are provided for the home, school and community settings, and recommendations around next steps are given to both the family and the school in order to more fully support a child.

The IDS Comprehensive Psychological Review includes:

- gathering data through standardized and normed measures and questionnaires, 

- conducting clinical interviews and record reviews with family and school team members,  

- thoroughly analyzing all data gathered, and

- writing a detailed report of findings, analysis, and recommendations for next steps (to include: interventions needed, strategies, tools and resources for home and school success).

PART TWO:

Once standardized measures have been completed and if the initial analysis indicates cognitive and achievement areas that score in the extremely high range, we will move into the Gifted+Talented Intake.

The IDS Gifted and Talented Intake Service offering matches a licensed, skilled and experienced IDS Gifted and Talented Specialist with a child, family and/or school in order to develop and implement an individualized intervention plan. The Gifted and Talented Support Services range from individualized sessions with a Specialist to consultations and trainings with teaching staff in schools. IDS works directly with family and educational team to create an implement an effective and targeted service offering. With our Gifted and Talented Support services, families and schools report increased confidence in understanding a child’s specific strengths and needs, as well as a greater ability to support children in their academic, social and emotional growth.

Our Gifted and Talented Services include:

- Intake session (scheduled with home and/or school) - a detailed record review, diagnostic skills assessment and learning inventory (as needed based on current records) leading to the creation of one child-centered plan including specific interventions and strategies to implement immediately as well as next steps and re- sources;

- Ongoing sessions delivered via videoconference to a child in school or at home targeting all necessary intervention areas. Online sessions are interactive and engaging, and the IDS Gifted and Talented Specialist communicates with the teachers and/or caregivers of a child in order to share ideas and strategies to support the child’s strengths and needs outside of the clinical sessions.

- Consultations delivered via videoconference to children, families and/or school staff around key topics, resources, and strategies to increase knowledge and skills.

IDS Case Manager : Katie Holloran

Your IDS clinical team is led by our Global Director of Clinical Operations, Katie Holloran. Katie has worked as a teacher, administrator, consultant, and University Professor in the Washington, DC area since graduating from Georgetown University in 2000.  Katie earned her Master’s Degree in Special Education focusing on children with Emotional and Behavioral Disabilities from the George Washington University with post-masters coursework for her Board Certification at the Pennsylvania State University. 

In managing the IDS teletherapy team, Katie utilizes strategies and knowledge learned through the Telehealth Facilitator Program at Jefferson University, one of only four telehealth training programs accredited by the American Telemedicine Association.
